Don’t Procrastinate

Are you a procrastinator? Does working on what needs to be done gets put off until last minute? I know I’m guilty of doing it. Do you have a long to-do list? Most of us do.

I’ve found it easier to focus on the top three things that need to be done first. It will help you break it down into smaller chunks. Then take baby steps and get the next thing done.

I see procrastination as being the same thing as being lazy. They may have different meanings but in the end if your being lazy you are also putting off what needs to be done. But It’s just the way I see it, my opinion. 🙂

I remembered this quote as I was writing this post we’ve all probably have heard it before.

“Don’t put off until tomorrow, what you can do today.” Benjamin Franklin

That saying is so true for work, personal reasons, writing and in general life. Don’t put it off get it done.

I also like the slogan from Nike “ Just do it.” I think it goes along the same lines as Benjamin Franklin’s quote. At times we don’t feel like doing anything at all except laze around and watch tv or read a book, but all the important things in life have to get done.

In a way it can encourage you to get those words written. Get the pile of laundry you keep putting off done. You will feel so much better after you do it.

“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13 NIV version
